Kodie, Ashanti Region — June 23, 2025 — A fire has destroyed part of the official residence of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South, Madam Pearl Ankrah.

The fire happened on the night of Saturday, June 21, around 10 p.m. The affected part of the house was still under renovation and had not yet been occupied.

Firefighters from the Mamponteng Fire Station quickly arrived and managed to stop the fire from spreading to the rest of the building. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but investigations are ongoing. According to reports, two people have been arrested to assist the police with their investigation.

Authorities say the damaged area will be repaired before the DCE can move in.
