Cape Coast has been buzzing with excitement all week as TW Radio 88.9 rolled out its power-packed TW July celebration, drawing massive attention with a lineup of unique activities that combined entertainment, talent discovery, and community appreciation in unforgettable ways.

What was expected to be a simple brass band competition quickly turned into a city-wide float! The people of Cape Coast showed up in droves, dancing and marching to the rhythm of live music. It was a beautiful chaos — a spontaneous celebration of culture and sound, proving once again that Cape Coasters can’t resist the magic of live band music.

TW Radio opened its doors to anyone with talent and gave them a stage — literally. The “30 Minutes of Fame” segment welcomed aspiring stars from all walks of life:

Two enthusiastic sports anchors
A school-skipping sports commentator who brought his crew just to showcase his passion

A preacher who delivered a compelling Christian message through a Muslim lens, titled The Truth Unveiled

A poised news anchor

A lively show presenter
A rapper with lyrical fire
And a 14-year-old boy who lit up the studio with soulful R&B and trap freestyles
It was unscripted, unpredictable, and absolutely electric.

In an act of gratitude toward Cape Coast’s drivers, TW Radio partnered with Shell Filling Station (Elmina High Road) to give out 5 gallons of fuel every hour from 9 AM to 6 PM to five lucky drivers. The only requirement? Pick up a TW Radio sticker, place it visibly on your vehicle, and claim your reward. The result? A packed station, grateful drivers, and a community that felt seen and appreciated.

"Today, we are supporting commercial drivers with FREE fuel at Elmina Shell, just for repping TW Radio. Keep listening!"

Wednesday’s activities began with another exciting float through Cape Coast, followed by massive giveaways. Branded aprons, mugs, flasks, thumb drives, diaries, pens, and more were handed out to loyal listeners and fans.

The day also featured the high-stakes “Weakest Link Contest” — a brain-busting trivia challenge featuring 12 contestants, 10 rounds, and a GHS 3,000 prize. Each wrong answer deducted GHS 20 from the pot, and after every round, the group had to vote out one contestant. The contest is still ongoing, and the tension is real.

TW Radio’s July celebration continues with more surprises, more energy, and more love for the people of Cape Coast. From floats to freestyles, giveaways to gas-ups, TW Radio 88.9 is proving that radio isn’t just something you listen to — it’s something you experience.

Stay tuned. The best is yet to come.
