The 2024 edition of the Happy Man Bitters Upper East Music Awards (HMB-UEMA) has officially concluded on a high note, as all 24 category winners have received their cash prizes from the headline sponsor, Happy Man Bitters.
The distribution of prizes saw Artiste of the Year winner Fasetwo walk away with a grand sum of ₵21,000, while his hit collaboration Chianabu featuring Sabu also earned him an additional ₵1,000 for Best Collaboration of the Year. Other top winners included Phil Mak (Gospel Song of the Year), Boey P (Sound Producer of the Year), Justin Blocker (Blogger of the Year), and Jah Eye (Best Video of the Year), each taking home ₵1,000.
In the female category, Apodita claimed Female Vocalist of the Year, while Rockcity Bongo secured Best Group of the Year. Other standout winners included Carlblingx (Best Rap Performance), Alapta Wan (Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year), Gingsen (Hip Hop Song of the Year and Hip Hop Artiste of the Year), and Mahama Kundivi (Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year), each receiving ₵1,000.
Pandy Bobby won Album of the Year with Ligri, Flamebwoy claimed Digital Act of the Year, and Danni Quest took Male Vocalist of the Year, all with prize money of ₵1,000. The HMB Most Popular Song of the Year went to Saint Chicago with Ba Na Zoe, while American Borga emerged as MC/Hypeman of the Year.
Other recipients of ₵1,000 included Young Naira (Afrobeats Song of the Year), DJ Kings (Best DJ of the Year), Fasetwo again for Record of the Year, Timorhino (Best New Act), and Atanga Alex (Industry Person of the Year).
One of the biggest highlights was Gloria Bby, who was awarded UE Music Influencer of the Year and received a whopping ₵6,000.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to Happy Man Bitters for their consistent support of the Upper East music industry, emphasizing that such contributions are essential for promoting and sustaining local talent.
