Charger Limited has once again demonstrated that impactful change doesn’t always begin in the spotlight—it starts with intent, heart, and action.
On June 10, 2025, the company rolled out its latest educational support initiative dubbed “Operation 1000 Mathematical Sets”—a bold move aimed at ensuring that no Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidate in the Upper East Region is left behind due to lack of resources. This purposeful outreach directly targeted some of the most underserved Junior High Schools in the Bolgatanga Municipality, ensuring every child reached is equipped and motivated for success.
The campaign saw the distribution of 1,000 mathematical sets across 15 selected schools, including both public and faith-based institutions such as Sherigu JHS, Sokabisi JHS, Anglican JHS, Dorongo JHS, and Pologo JHS. The project was carried out with the active collaboration of local education officials, headteachers, and volunteers from the respective communities—ensuring not just efficiency but a deep sense of ownership from the locals.

What set this intervention apart was not just the distribution of tools, but the personal interaction and encouragement that came with it. School heads praised the thoughtful timing of the project, just weeks before the BECE, describing it as a “divine intervention” for many students whose families could not afford the items.

For many students in the Upper East Region, something as basic as a mathematical set can be the difference between passing and failing an exam. With most of the candidates depending on limited household incomes, such donations go far beyond charity—they restore dignity, build confidence, and promote equity in education.

“This initiative is not just about giving items—it’s about sending a message to every child: You matter, and your dreams deserve a chance,” said Atanga Alex, Corporate PRO of Charger Limited’s Northern Command.

The impact was immediate and heartfelt. Students expressed joy and relief, while teachers lauded the company for stepping in where government efforts often fall short. The initiative was also widely reported on local media outlets, further boosting awareness about the importance of private sector support in Ghana’s education system.

Like any ambitious outreach, the operation faced a few hurdles. Notably, word of the distribution spread quickly, prompting calls from neighboring districts that were not part of the initial plan. This surge in demand has prompted internal discussions on how future editions can be scaled to reach a broader audience without compromising the quality of support.
The success of this project serves as a model for what strategic, heartfelt intervention can accomplish. Charger Limited has once again proven that meaningful corporate social responsibility goes beyond token gestures—it transforms lives.
