Former President John Dramani Mahama had expressed concern about the health of legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba before his passing, according to musician and political activist A-Plus.
A-Plus revealed that President Mahama noticed Daddy Lumba didn't look well during the Senior Citizens Day event on July 1, 2025, and wanted to help. The president reached out to Lumba, but the music icon requested time to prepare before meeting him, citing his private nature.
Despite Lumba's hesitation, President Mahama followed up twice to check if Lumba was ready to meet. Unfortunately, Lumba passed away before they could connect.
A-Plus believes President Mahama will still honor Daddy Lumba's legacy, saying, "Now that he's gone, I know the president will still do what he can to honour him."
