Nana Agradaa, the founder of Heaven Way Champion Ministries, has urged her church members to continue praying for her as she begins her 15-year jail term. The self-styled evangelist was sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labor for defrauding by false pretense and engaging in charlatanic advertisement.
Agradaa's sentencing stemmed from a widely televised money-doubling scam aired in 2022, where she claimed to possess spiritual powers to double money. Dozens of people responded to the broadcast, handing over large sums of money to her church with the expectation of receiving returns. However, instead of doubling their money, Agradaa defrauded the victims, prompting public outrage and a swift police investigation.
Despite her conviction and sentencing, Agradaa has maintained a strong connection with her church members. In her message, she encouraged them to remain steadfast in their faith and to continue praying for her during her time in prison. The development has sparked mixed reactions, with some expressing sympathy for Agradaa's situation while others have welcomed the court's decision as a victory for justice.
