A University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) student has tragically passed away, sending shockwaves through the Tarkwa campus. Davis Frimpong Manso, a third-year logistics and transport student, died on April 9, 2025, just days after securing a scholarship to study in the UK.

The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear, but rumors suggest he ate with his roommate on the night of his passing. The roommate has since gone missing, leaving friends and family struggling to cope with the sudden loss.

A witness shared the news on Snapchat, stating, "The night the incident happened, he ate with his roommate. After the food, the roommate left, and till now, we haven’t seen him. If we call, we do not get him." The UMaT community is in mourning, grappling with the loss of a promising student whose dreams were cut short.
