A devastating accident has claimed the lives of a newlywed couple in Tamale, just hours after they celebrated their wedding. The incident occurred on Monday morning when the couple was traveling to the groom's rented apartment in Gurugu on a motorcycle.

According to eyewitnesses, an unregistered vehicle driven by a group of Nigerian nationals allegedly hit them, and the suspects fled the scene immediately after the crash.

The bride died instantly, while the groom was rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital in critical condition. Sadly, he later succumbed to his injuries. The couple had celebrated their union with friends and family just a day earlier, making the tragedy even more heartbreaking.

Their bodies have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital Morgue, and investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the hit-and-run. Authorities are working to track down the individuals responsible for the accident.
