The Presidency has disclosed that a total of GHS 3,576,600.00 and US$20,000.00 has so far been received in donations towards the Children Support Fund, established to cater for the welfare and education of the children of victims of the tragic August 6 military helicopter crash.
In its latest update covering 19th to 28th August 2025, the Presidency noted that contributions have come from a wide range of corporate institutions, state agencies, and private individuals.
Among the notable donors are Ghana Airport Company Limited, ARB Apex Bank, STL Foundation, Fidelity Bank, ADB Bank, GLICO General Insurance, and the National Insurance Commission. Several individuals also made personal contributions in solidarity with the affected families.
The Children Support Fund was set up in response to the heartbreaking tragedy in which a Ghana Air Force helicopter went down in the Dampia Range Forest Reserve, claiming the lives of eight senior government and military officials, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim.

According to the Presidency, the fund is aimed at providing financial assistance, educational support, and long-term welfare for the children left behind by the victims.
The Presidency expressed appreciation to all who have donated so far, while encouraging more Ghanaians, institutions, and international partners to contribute to the fund to ensure that the future of the affected children is secured.
