Peter Nwachukwu, the late gospel singer Osinachi's husband Peter Nwachukwu, the late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu's husband, has been sentenced to death by hanging by the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, Nigeria, for culpable homicide on April 8, 2022

Justice Nwosu-Iheme delivered the court's ruling, which found Nwachukwu guilty of the 23 counts the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (OAGF) had filed against him.

Among the charges were criminal intimidation, culpable homicide punishable by death, spousal betrayals, and cruelty to children.

Osinachi's two children were among the 17 witnesses who testified against Nwachukwu throughout the trial.

The defense summoned five witnesses and presented four exhibits, while the prosecution presented twenty-five documents.

In his allocutus, Nwachukwu's counsel, Reginald Nwali, pleaded for leniency, but the prosecution counsel, Mrs. Aderonke Imala, urged the court to apply the full force of the law.

The court sentenced Nwachukwu to:
1. Death by hanging on Count 1 (culpable homicide)

2. 2 years imprisonment on Counts 2, 3, 8, 9, 12, 13, and 18

3. 6 months imprisonment on Count 10
4. 3 years imprisonment on Count 11
5. N500,000 fine on Count 6
6. N200,000 fine on Count 7
