The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), Albert Kwadwo Twum Boafo, has cautioned Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale against getting entangled in criminal activities following his recent release from EOCO custody.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana, Boafo acknowledged Shatta Wale’s remarkable achievements in the music industry but advised him to avoid situations that could jeopardize his freedom and career.

“For your own sake, don’t get involved in a criminal enterprise and racketeering that can result in you being extradited to the United States to face justice. That is my advice to him,” Boafo warned.

He emphasized that while Shatta Wale commands massive love and support in Ghana, no fanbase could shield him from the consequences of international crime.
“He enjoys love from his fans here, but no one will be able to follow him to the U.S. if extradition happens,” he added.

The FIC boss’s remarks come at a time when public attention remains fixed on the dancehall star’s legal troubles, sparking conversations about the responsibilities of celebrities and the risks of mixing fame with questionable dealings.
