Shock and fear have gripped residents of Adidaase near Manso Amenfi in the Western Region after a 31-year-old farmer, Abdul Salam, murdered his own 6-year-old son in cold blood.
Police reports indicate that Salam severed the little boy’s head and legs and dumped them in a nearby bush after the child was declared missing in the community.
A frantic search was launched, but little did residents know that the father himself had committed the wicked act. When police picked him up for questioning, he confessed to butchering his son with the intent of using his body parts for money rituals.
The grisly murder has left the Wassa Amenfi District in shock, with many describing the act as “heartless and demonic.”
Police in Asankragua have retrieved the boy’s remains and have confirmed that Salam is in custody while investigations continue.
This incident adds to the growing number of ritual-related killings reported in parts of the country.
