GES Debunks Reports of Teacher Kwadwo’s Reinstatement


The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed reports circulating in the media claiming that comedian and teacher, Mr. Michael Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Teacher Kwadwo, has been reinstated into the Service.

In a statement issued by the Head of Public Relations, Mr. Daniel Fenyi, the GES described the reports as false and misleading.

“The attention of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has been drawn to reports circulating in sections of the media suggesting that Mr. Michael Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Teacher Kwadwo, has been reinstated into the Service. The Ghana Education Service wishes to state that the report is false. Mr. Owusu Afriyie has not been reinstated,” the statement clarified.

The Service, however, noted that if Mr. Owusu Afriyie believes his 2021 dismissal was unjust, he has the right to formally petition the GES for reconsideration.

The public has therefore been advised to disregard such false reports and rely only on official GES communications.
