Final Funeral Rites for Highlife Legend Dada KD Announced

The family of the late Ghanaian highlife icon, Dada KD, has officially released details of his final funeral rites, inviting the general public, fans, colleagues, and sympathizers to join them in honouring the life and legacy of the celebrated musician.

According to the family, the Lying in State will take place on 6th September 2025 at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra. This solemn event will give dignitaries, industry players, fans, and loved ones the opportunity to pay their last respects to the veteran artiste, whose music touched many hearts across the country and beyond.

The Burial and Thanksgiving Ceremony will follow the next day, 7th September 2025, at his hometown, Agona-Asamang, in the Ashanti Region. The final rites are expected to draw large crowds, as Ghanaians gather to bid a final farewell to one of the pillars of Ghanaian highlife music.

Dada KD, known for his soulful voice and timeless love songs, left an indelible mark on Ghana’s music landscape. His passing shocked the nation, and tributes have since poured in from across the music fraternity and fans alike.



The family, in their announcement, expressed gratitude for the support received so far and extended a heartfelt invitation to all to join them in giving Dada KD a befitting farewell.
