Agradaa Won’t Be Allowed To Even Stay Overnight In A Hospital As An Inmate – Prisons PRO Reveals

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Prisons Service in the Ashanti Region, Chief Superintendent of Prisons (CSP) Richard Bukari, has shed light on the conditions surrounding Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, following her recent conviction and incarceration.

Speaking in an interview that has since surfaced on the TikTok page of Newmercury915fm, CSP Bukari outlined strict protocols governing Agradaa’s movement now that she is serving a 15-year jail term at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison.

According to him, Agradaa, like any other convicted prisoner, is not permitted to freely exit the prison grounds unless under two specific conditions medical attention or a court appearance.

“If she will be allowed to leave the prison, that will be done lawfully. For now, as she remains a convict, there are two things that will make her leave the prison: one, if she is medically unfit and needs to go to the hospital for treatment, even then, she will not be allowed to sleep there. Once she is attended to by doctors, she will be brought back,” CSP Bukari stated.

He further clarified that the only other circumstance that would warrant her release from the prison compound, even temporarily, would be if she is due in court for other pending legal matters.

Agradaa, a self-styled evangelist and former fetish priestess, was recently sentenced to 15 years in prison by an Accra Circuit Court after being found guilty of six counts of defrauding by false pretence. Her incarceration has sparked widespread public interest, particularly regarding how high-profile inmates are handled in Ghana’s prison system.

The Prisons PRO’s clarification puts to rest speculations that Agradaa may enjoy certain privileges or leniencies due to her public profile.

CSP Bukari emphasized that the rules are clear, and no inmate, regardless of their status, is above the law.
