Cape Coast - The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has officially announced a significant recruitment campaign to enlist 12,000 new personnel over the next three years. This major expansion is part of a strategic effort to enhance the country’s national defense capabilities and build a disciplined, unified force that represents all regions of Ghana.
Deputy Defense Minister Mr. Brogba Genfi announced the initiative on his official Facebook page, Monday, September 29, 2025 highlighting key changes that reflect the government's commitment to fairness, accessibility, and affordability. A notable reform is the reduction in the cost of recruitment forms by over 40% compared to the last round, making the process more accessible to qualified candidates from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
He emphasized that the recruitment process will be transparent and professional, with no activities conducted on social media to prevent fraud. All applicants must meet strict medical fitness standards and be willing to fully dedicate themselves to military life.

In his words, "Recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces is NOT for sale—and will NEVER be for sale under our #EagleEyes watch. Any individual or syndicate involved in fraudulent recruitment schemes will be dealt with without mercy", he emphasised.
Aligned with the vision of President and Commander-in-Chief John Dramani Mahama, the GAF aims to make recruitment opportunities available across all regions to ensure national inclusion and equal opportunity for every Ghanaian.
Applicants are advised to await official announcements regarding application qualifications, procedures, and regional recruitment centers. This information will be published within the week on the Ministry of Defence Ghana website, the Ghana Armed Forces website, and selected newspapers and electronic media platforms.
This recruitment exercise is a crucial step toward building a stronger, more disciplined Ghana Armed Forces that reflects the nation's strength and unity.
