Cape Coast – In a move to bolster rural healthcare, the U.S.-based non-governmental organization Citizens Taking Responsibility (CTR) has donated essential medical supplies to the Gomoa Mangoase Health Centre in the Central Region.

The brief handover ceremony took place at the health centre on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, led by Dr. Thomas Appiah. He emphasized that the donation was part of the organization's mission to give back to society, noting the supplies are expected to benefit approximately three thousand people from three neighboring communities.

Donated items included blood pressure monitors, smart nebulizers, weighing scales, medicines, syringes, hospital bedsheets, finger pulse oximeters, an ultrasound machine, episiotomy sets, and delivery beds, among others.

Prior to this medical donation, CTR had also provided computers to the community school to enhance the teaching and learning of ICT.

The Physician Assistant for the Health Centre, Miss Clothilda Eyram Kulewosin, was assisted by medical staff and management members in receiving the items. In her acceptance speech, she noted that the facility serves a population of over 5,600 people across five communities.

"On average, we attend to 450 people per month," she stated, adding, "We serve five communities, including three outside our official jurisdiction."

The management of the Gomoa Mangoase Health Centre praised CTR's efforts, stating that the supplies arrived at a critical time and pledging to use them for their intended purposes.

Also present at the donation ceremony were Dr. Catrina Appiah, Dr. Isaac Appiah, Mr. Michael Yao Sewornu, and Mr. Joseph Appiah.
