The Management of Ghana National Gas Company Limited has strongly denied recent social media reports suggesting a division between Chief Executive Officer, Judith Adjobah Blay, and the Board of Directors chaired by Kofi Totobi Quakyi.

In a statement released today, the company described the publications as false narratives aimed at creating unnecessary tension within the institution.

“These stories are entirely false and appear to be driven by sinister motives aimed at sowing seeds of discord and manufacturing conflict where none exists,” the statement signed by Richard Kirk Mensah, Head of Corporate Affairs, said.

Management said it had noted with deep concern the attempts by some social media accounts to portray the relationship between the CEO and Board Chairman as strained.

According to the statement, the Board and Management continue to work in harmony to advance the company’s mandate.

“Management wishes to state categorically that the relationship between the Board and Management is founded on mutual respect, professionalism, trust, and a shared commitment to advancing the strategic objectives of Ghana Gas,” Kirk Mensah stated.

The company emphasized that decision-making within Ghana Gas follows due process and collective consultation.

It rejected claims that recent developments within the company indicated chaos or internal wrangling.

“Any suggestion of infighting or discord within the leadership of the Company is therefore baseless, exaggerated, and should be treated with the contempt it deserves,” the statement read.

Ghana Gas also addressed reports surrounding recent staff promotions that have been circulating online.

Management clarified that the promotions involved 50 employees and were part of a planned exercise to address long-overdue career progression.

“These promotions are the outcome of extensive consultations and deliberations at the management level, undertaken with the appropriate oversight and support of the Board of Directors,” it explained.

The company dismissed suggestions that the promotion exercise was rushed or lacked transparency.

“The assertion that Ghana Gas is in a state of chaos exists only in the imagination of individuals who appear determined to undermine the Company's progress for reasons best known to them,” Management said.

Contrary to the negative reports, Ghana Gas said it continues to record strong operational performance.

The company announced that production throughput has increased significantly in recent months.

“Notably, production throughput has increased from a historic average of 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF/D) to approximately 120 MMSCF/D,” the statement noted.

Management said the increase has had a direct impact on Ghana’s energy sector by improving fuel supply to power producers.

It added that higher plant availability and operational efficiency have also helped moderate fuel costs for industrial users.

“These achievements are clear evidence of a focused and well-managed institution delivering on its mandate,” Kirk Mensah added.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Board to maintain high standards of governance.

“Management remains firmly committed to working closely with the Board of Directors to uphold the highest standards of transparency, accountability, good corporate governance, and operational excellence,” the statement said.

Ghana Gas urged the public and media to verify information and rely only on official communications from the company.

“Together, we will continue to advance Ghana Gas' strategic objectives and contribute meaningfully to securing Ghana's energy future in line with the national development agenda,” it concluded.
