The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced a rise in sachet water prices, blaming increasing production costs driven by global supply disruptions.

The new prices, effective Monday, April 6, 2026, come amid a surge in the cost of key raw materials especially packaging polymers worsened by supply chain challenges linked to the ongoing conflict in Iran.

Under the revised pricing, a bag of 30 sachets (500ml each) will sell at GH¢8 ex-factory, GH¢10 ex-truck, with a recommended maximum retail price of GH¢15.

In a statement dated April 2, NASPAWAP said the adjustment was unavoidable as producers can no longer absorb rising input costs. The association noted that the prices are meant to guide the market, ensure uniformity, and sustain operations.

It also urged distributors and retailers to adhere to the new pricing structure to maintain stability and fairness.

The increase is expected to impact households and small businesses, as sachet water remains a primary source of drinking water for many.
