NASPA Cape Coast Metro (NASPA CCM) Executive Committee Visits NSS Accident Survivor at UCC West Gate

Cape Coast, Thursday — In a tragic incident that occurred on Thursday at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) West Gate, a fatal accident claimed the lives of several individuals, sending shockwaves throughout the university community and beyond. Amid the grief, one fortunate survivor a National Service Personnel (NSS) escaped with injuries and is currently receiving medical care.

In response to the heartbreaking event, a delegation from the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) Cape Coast Metro Executive Committee, led by the President and accompanied by the Financial Secretary, paid a heartfelt visit to the surviving NSS personnel to express their solidarity, offer encouragement, and assess the well-being of their colleague.

During the visit, the NASPA delegation extended words of comfort to the injured personnel, assuring them of the association’s full support throughout the recovery process. The President of NASPA Cape Coast, in his remarks, highlighted the importance of unity and care within the NSS community, especially during times of distress.



“We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives in this unfortunate incident, but we are also thankful for the life of our colleague who survived. We are committed to standing by them throughout this difficult time,” the President stated.



The Financial Secretary also expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and reiterated NASPA’s readiness to support all affected personnel emotionally and practically.



The visit was a testament to NASPA’s dedication to the welfare of service personnel, reinforcing the association’s role not just as an administrative body, but as a family that cares.



As investigations into the cause of the accident continue, NASPA encourages all service personnel to remain cautious and prioritise safety, especially in high-traffic areas such as the UCC West Gate.
