An Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) training centre has been renamed in honour of the late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah.

A bust has also been unveiled in his memory at Obomeng, his hometown.

President John Dramani Mahama led a host of government dignitaries to join traditional leaders, family members, and residents to officially unveil the facility and the commemorative bust.

The training centre, which has been renovated, was originally built in 2017 by the late Defence Minister during his tenure as Minister responsible for Communications.

The training facility is expected to serve as a hub for digital innovation, providing training in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for young people in the area.

The mother of the late Dr. Omane Boamah, Leticia Asante, commended the government for the honour bestowed on her son.
