Joan Laporta has been re-elected as president of FC Barcelona after winning the club’s latest presidential election on 15 March 2026 with a clear majority of the votes.


The victory gives Laporta another five-year term in charge of the Catalan club, as members once again placed their trust in his leadership. He comfortably defeated rival candidate Víctor Font, receiving approximately 68% of the votes to Font’s 29–30%.


Speaking after the results were announced, Laporta thanked the club’s members for their confidence and support. He described the election as a celebration of democracy at the club and said that the strong support from members nurtures the leadership’s confidence to continue their projects.


He outlined some of the main goals of his administration, including completing the renovation of Camp Nou as part of the Espai Barça project, strengthening the first team to maintain sporting success, and improving the club’s financial situation after years of debt challenges.
