Saturday, April 11th, around 1:00 PM, I was involved in a car accident that almost ended my life, and the person responsible is trying to walk away scot-free.
I was a passenger in the back seat of a Yango (Gray Kia Morning, GC 1382-19). We were driving past the traffic lights near the Achimota overhead when a reckless driver in a dark Toyota (GW 1972-16) ignored the traffic signals and rammed into us from behind.
The impact was so violent my head and neck were snapped, and I was left in total shock. But what’s worse is the driver’s behavior. When I tried to talk to him about getting checked out medically, he was dismissive and told me to "talk to my driver" instead. Since then, he has switched off his phone and is refusing to take any responsibility, even though he was the one who hit us.
I am currently in severe pain, constant headaches and bad neck pains. My Yango driver, Henry Kwakye, has been very responsible and keeps checking on me, but the man who actually caused the danger is hiding.
I have attached the photos of his car (GW 1972-16) and my Yango receipt. I’m hoping you can post this to help me get the Ghana Police to take this seriously. We can’t have people driving like this and then switching off their phones when they hurt someone.
