He said it reflects on its failures, refines its strategy, and rises again with renewed purpose.
“The true meaning of independence is not in the fireworks of celebration, but in the courage of a people to reflect, ponder, and chart bold strategies to build a stronger nation. Independence should not only make us proud; it must also make us pause, reflect, and design the strategy for the Ghana our forebears dreamed of,” the aspiring Deputy Communications Director of the NDC said in a statement.
He added “The true honour of independence lies not in the drums of celebration but in the courage of a people to reflect on their journey, correct their course, and strategically build the nation they deserve.”
“A great nation does not only celebrate independence; it reflects on its failures, refines its strategy, and rises again with renewed purpose.”
“Every Independence Day must challenge us with one question: Are we building the Ghana our freedom fighters sacrificed for, or merely celebrating the memory of their struggle?”
Ghana marks its 69th Independence Day on Friday, March 6. Ghana obtained independence on 6th March 1957.
This year’s anniversary is themed ‘Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope’.
The national parade will take place at Jubilee House, the seat of government.
Members of the diplomatic corps, the clergy, traditional leaders and other dignitaries are expected to participate in the event.
