On Friday, 23rd May 2025, the atmosphere at Pentecost Senior High School was electrifying as students gathered in the School Assembly Hall for a life-changing event: Career & College – Ready, Set, Go! Organized by the school in collaboration with the Pentecost Old Students Association (POSA), the event aimed at bridging the gap between dreams and direction, offering a refreshing blueprint for life during and beyond school.

Theme: Informed Choices, Empowered Futures

The event’s theme was more than just a tagline it was a bold statement that reflected the heart of the entire seminar. Students were reminded that making the right choices today sets the foundation for a stronger, more purpose-driven tomorrow.

Speakers Who Brought Dreams to Life

The speaker lineup was nothing short of stellar, with accomplished professionals all POSA alumni returning not just as speakers, but as real-life proof that greatness is attainable.
• Gakpetor Seli Phanuel, the event’s facilitator, brought energy and wisdom that kept the audience engaged. His practical approach to navigating education and career pathways gave students a renewed sense of focus and determination.

• Myricks Bonnah, a renowned security expert and pilot, shared his powerful journey from the school’s classroom to the cockpit, emphasizing discipline, clarity of vision, and resilience.

• Rev. Jmicheal Antonio, a creative arts and culture expert, ignited the creative spirits in the room with his words on identity, passion, and using talent as a tool for transformation in both school and society.

• Adwoa Larbi, a professional midwife, broke down barriers as she talked about the healthcare field. Her story was especially empowering for female students, showing that science and compassion go hand in hand.
• Lawrence Boadu, a skilled IT expert, made tech careers not only accessible but exciting, proving that coding and digital skills are the currency of the future.

More Than a Seminar – A Blueprint for Success

What made this seminar truly exceptional was how it transcended traditional career talks. It wasn’t just about job titles; it was about life. The speakers addressed vital areas like time management, networking, emotional intelligence, and building resilience during school days. Students left with practical tools to not just survive school, but to thrive academically, socially, and mentally.

One key takeaway? Success doesn’t start after school it starts now. The students were reminded that their attitude, choices, and habits today will either open or close doors tomorrow.

A Student Body with a Bright Future

What stood out most was the level of engagement from the student body. Their questions were sharp, their attention unwavering. It was clear that Pentecost SHS students are not only academically sound but also possess a deep understanding of life and how to make it easier during school and beyond. The enthusiasm in the hall reflected a generation ready to rise armed with the wisdom of those who once walked their path.

Career & College – Ready, Set, Go! was more than an event; it was a call to action. Through stories, strategies, and shared experiences, it proved that with the right mindset and guidance, the future is not something to fear it’s something to shape.

As POSA continues to invest in the next generation, one thing is certain: Pentecost SHS is grooming leaders who are not only career ready but also life-ready. And that makes all the difference.
