Ghanaian international, Antoine Semenyo faced racial abuse online again after Manchester City’s 3-0 Premier League demolition of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old forward, who shone through the full match, celebrated on Instagram only to receive vile racist comments, prompting his weary response: “It’s started again…”

This marks the second incident this 2025-26 season for Semenyo, following abuse during Bournemouth’s December loss to Liverpool.

Now thriving at City after a £64m January switch from Bournemouth, he’s notched 15 league goals, snagged the Carabao Cup, and cemented World Cup-bound form.

The abuse underscores football’s persistent online racism plague despite awareness drives, hitting Black players post-victory. Semenyo’s screenshot spotlighted the ugliness, rallying support from fans and teammates amid City’s title charge.

For Ghana’s Black Stars under new coach Carlos Queiroz, Semenyo’s Etihad impact bolsters Group L hopes against England, Croatia, and Panama. Yet off-field poison threatens his momentum ahead of June’s Toronto opener.
