Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has responded strongly to a wave of online criticism following the resurgence of past statements linked to the controversial anti-LGBTQI+ bill.

In a post shared on X on March 31, 2026, the minister dismissed the backlash, insisting he remains unfazed by the ongoing scrutiny. According to him, individuals recirculating old videos are driven by a specific agenda that ultimately holds no real impact on his political standing.

“You think you are pushing an agenda, but you are simply writing my political memoirs,” he stated. “I read them with delight as a testimony of the work we did and achieved. This one is a #TuffSeed… Nothing you say about me today is new or hasn’t been said to me before.”

The remarks come amid heightened public debate surrounding Ghana’s anti-LGBTQI+ legislation, with critics revisiting past statements from prominent political figures, including the minister. However, Samuel George maintains that the renewed attention only reinforces his political journey rather than undermining it.
