Ghana witnessed a remarkable show of unity and patriotism as citizens, corporate institutions, and stakeholders across the sports ecosystem came together in strong support of the Black Stars during a national fundraising initiative held yesterday.

In a Facebook post, the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, described the response as a powerful endorsement of the government’s renewed direction for sports development, anchored in the Reset Agenda of President John Dramani Mahama.

According to the Minister, the overwhelming participation—from Corporate Ghana to football supporters, creatives, and the general public—signals a growing trust in efforts to rebuild transparency and accountability within the sector.

“When I assumed office, one of my key priorities was clear: to rebuild trust in our sports ecosystem and bring Corporate Ghana closer by demonstrating accountability, transparency, and fiscal discipline,” he stated.

He emphasized that these guiding principles align with President Mahama’s broader Reset Agenda, which seeks to reposition key sectors of the economy through responsible leadership and institutional reforms.

Kofi Adams expressed gratitude to the President for his leadership and also commended the Deputy Minister for Finance for chairing the fundraising committee with diligence. He further extended appreciation to corporate partners and individual contributors who supported the initiative.

Assuring the public of transparency, the Minister pledged that all funds raised would be managed with the highest level of integrity. “Every cedi and dollar raised will be accounted for,” he affirmed.

The fundraising drive forms part of efforts to support the Ghana national football team as they prepare for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Ghanaians have been encouraged to continue contributing through the shortcode *899# or by visiting the official raffle website, as the nation rallies behind its team on the road to global competition.

“This is our Black Stars. This journey belongs to all of us,” the Minister concluded, urging continued national support as Ghana aims to make a strong impact on the world stage.
