A non-denominational thanksgiving service will be held today, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, to commemorate one year since President John Dramani Mahama assumed office.

The event, themed “One Year of President Mahama: Resetting, Rebuilding, Renewing,” is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. at the forecourt of the Presidency.

The service is expected to bring together government officials, religious leaders, and members of the public to reflect on the first year of President Mahama’s administration and to offer prayers for national unity, peace, and continued progress.

Organisers say the non-denominational nature of the thanksgiving service highlights the government’s commitment to inclusivity, providing an opportunity for people of different faiths to participate in a shared moment of gratitude and reflection.

The event will also serve as a platform to reaffirm the administration’s vision of national reset, institutional rebuilding, and the renewal of public confidence in governance as the President enters his second year in office.
