The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has scheduled November 7 to 9 for aspirants seeking to contest and occupy various national executive positions to submit their nomination forms.

The exercise which forms part of preparations towards the election of the party’s national executives is scheduled for December 19, 2026.

Speaking to Channel One News, the party’s Director of Elections and IT, Mahdi Gibril, warned that aspirants who fail to submit their completed forms within the stipulated period will automatically be disqualified.

He explained that aspirants are required to submit their forms in person between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on each of the three days.

“Aspirants will now submit their forms in person, where they will present their Forms A, B and C, completed in three sets, with their photographs and CVs to the election committees, starting from Saturday, November 7, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm,” he said.

Mr Gibril stressed that the deadline would be strictly enforced, indicating that the filing process would end at 5:00 pm on Monday, November 9.

“If you are not able to file before 5:00 pm on the 9th of November, it means that you are out of the contest,” he cautioned.

He further clarified that submitting nomination forms online alone would not constitute a completed filing, as aspirants are still required to present the completed and endorsed documents in person.

Vetting of aspirants who successfully complete the filing process is scheduled for November 11 and 12.

Meanwhile, Mr Gibril said the party was putting measures in place to ensure the peaceful conduct of its regional executive elections scheduled for November 14.

He disclosed that the Electoral Commission was overseeing the printing of ballot papers, with the process about 80 per cent complete at the time of his latest update.

On security, he said the NDC had placed responsibility for maintaining order during the elections in the hands of the Ghana Police Service.

“Security is in the hands of the Police Service, so ours is that we expect that they do their work without any challenge. They will not allow any personal security details. Ministers and MPs will not be allowed to have their security details within the perimeter of voting. Party security will not be allowed,” he said.

He added that the party expected the police to maintain the same security arrangements used during the constituency-level elections.
