The Manhyia Palace has dismissed reports suggesting it is involved in the funeral and burial arrangements of highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, widely known as Daddy Lumba.
In a statement issued on Thursday, December 11, 2025, officials from the Palace urged the public to disregard what they described as misleading attempts to associate the royal institution with preparations for the late musician’s final rites. The Palace stressed that it has played no part in any discussions or decisions regarding the funeral.
The clarification comes amid growing speculation and circulating reports claiming Manhyia’s participation in resolving differences within the musician’s family. The Palace warned that such misinformation has the potential to fuel confusion and distort public understanding of the ongoing developments.
Tensions have heightened in recent days as Daddy Lumba’s immediate family and extended relatives struggle to reach a consensus on the burial date. A previously circulated date of December 13, 2025, was rejected by the family as unauthorised and inaccurate.
Manhyia Palace called on the public and media houses to verify information before sharing it, cautioning that unsubstantiated claims could worsen the already sensitive situation surrounding the celebrated musician’s funeral arrangements.
