President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to serve Ghanaians with humility, integrity, and dedication while urging citizens to actively support national development.

The president made the remarks during Ghana’s Independence Day celebrations marking the country’s 69th anniversary on Friday, March 6, under the theme “Building Prosperity, Inspiring Hope.”

Addressing the nation, President Mahama reflected on Ghana’s journey since independence, acknowledging that the country has faced several challenges along the way. However, he praised the resilience and determination of the Ghanaian people.

“The journey has not always been smooth. We have stumbled and often felt disappointed in ourselves, but we have never given up,” he said.

President Mahama assured Ghanaians of his commitment to prioritising the welfare of citizens and strengthening national progress through honest and responsible leadership.

“As your president, I pledge to serve with integrity, humility, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of our people,” he stated.

He emphasised that the development of the country cannot depend on leadership alone but requires the collective effort of all citizens.
