The United States Marshals Service has released a detailed account of the arrest and detention of former Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) Chief Executive Officer, Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, following a request made under the United States Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

The request for information was submitted by Ghanaian lawyer William Nyarko. The response from the US Marshals Service provides a step-by-step description of how Tamakloe-Attionu was tracked, arrested, and detained in the state of Nevada.

According to the documents, a warrant for the arrest of Tamakloe-Attionu was issued on December 12, 2025, by the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada. The warrant was based on her status as a fugitive from the Republic of Ghana following her conviction on embezzlement-related charges and Ghana’s request for her extradition.

On January 6, 2026, members of the Nevada Violent Offenders Task Force identified Tamakloe-Attionu at her residence at approximately 2:30 p.m. Officers later approached the residence at about 3:05 p.m. to execute the arrest warrant. After a knock-and-announce procedure, Tamakloe-Attionu opened the door and was taken into custody without incident.

She was placed in restraints, searched at the scene, and transported to the Federal Courthouse in Las Vegas before being taken to the Henderson Detention Center, a facility contracted by the US Marshals Service, where she was held overnight.

On January 7, 2026, she was transported back to the Federal Courthouse and formally booked into the custody of the US Marshals Service.

Some portions of the released documents were redacted in line with FOIA provisions. The information was classified as unclassified but law-enforcement sensitive and approved for public release following a determination on the redacted content.
