A Ghanaian woman, Yaa Serwaa, has appealed for a share of a house she claims she helped build with her former boyfriend, Bernard Kojo, following the collapse of their relationship.

Speaking on Lawson Afisem, Yaa Serwaa recounted that she met Bernard in 2017 at Atwima Yabi in the Ashanti Region. According to her, the two began dating after Bernard proposed to her, and six months later, they welcomed their first child together.

However, she said the relationship became troubled after she suspected Bernard was involved with several other women.

"He was cheating on me with different women, and whenever I confronted him, he became angry. Out of frustration, I left our house and went to stay with my mother," she revealed.

While away from their home, Yaa Serwaa said she travelled to Accra to meet another man she had been communicating with. She admitted they had a one-time sexual encounter before she reconciled with Bernard after he apologized and asked her to return.

Months later, she discovered she was pregnant. When the child turned one year old, a DNA test confirmed that Bernard was not the biological father.

Despite the shocking results, Yaa Serwaa said Bernard chose to remain in the relationship and assured her that he would continue to care for both her and the child.

"Even after the DNA results, he did not leave me. I wanted to go and look for the child's biological father, but he told me not to worry because he would take care of both the child and me," she said.

According to her, the relationship eventually broke down after Bernard allegedly stopped supporting her financially. She claimed he accused her of having affairs with other men during her pregnancy.

Yaa Serwaa further disclosed that Bernard's mother later summoned her before a palace, where she was accused of infidelity.

The dispute has now shifted to the ownership of a house the couple allegedly built together during their relationship.

According to Yaa Serwaa, Bernard has rejected her request for a share of the property, insisting that the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy and the DNA revelation influenced his decision.

She, however, maintains that she made significant contributions toward the construction of the house and believes she deserves a fair share of the property despite the breakdown of their relationship.

The matter was discussed publicly during her appearance on Lawson Afisem, where she appealed for justice regarding her claimed investment in the house.
