The Amasaman High Court has reduced the 15-year prison sentence of convicted Ghanaian preacher, Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, to 12 months.

According to reports by GHOne TV, the court ruled that the initial 15-year sentence handed down by an Accra Circuit Court was harsh and excessive. The decision significantly shortens the controversial preacher’s time in custody.

The revised sentence takes effect from July 3, 2025 — the date of her conviction — meaning Nana Agradaa has approximately five months left to serve.

Agradaa is currently being held at the Nsawam Female Prison after she was found guilty of charlatanic advertising and defrauding by false pretences. Her legal team had earlier challenged the conviction and sentencing, arguing that the punishment was disproportionate to the offences.

The High Court’s ruling follows months of legal proceedings after Agradaa and her lawyers filed an appeal, first appearing before the court on December 4, 2025.

The development has sparked mixed reactions among the public, with some questioning the reduction while others believe the revised sentence reflects judicial fairness.
