Ghana national volleyball championships set for next month

The Ghana national volleyball championship is expected to start in the northern sector in the first week of April and in May for the southern sector sportscrusader.com can reveal.

The northern zone which comprises of the Upper East, Upper West, Northern, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions will see teams battle it out for the right to become champions in Wa where the championship will take place.

The southern sector also comprises of the Western, Central, Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta regions, will have their competition in Koforidua.

President of the Volleyball Association of Ghana (VAG) Paul Atchoe in an interview with sportscrusader.com said, “all is set for the northern zone championships in Wa, and, we expect a very encouraging participation this year as the popularity of the sport is growing nationwide”.

He also emphasized that the championships will help beef up the national team selection ahead of the Olympic qualifiers which will be taking place very soon.
