Pro athletes will travel from California, even Poland and Ghana, to Norristown Area High School July 19 and 20.
They're coming to compete in the first-ever Norristown Crush, an outdoor grass volleyball tournament featuring all levels of play, from beginner to professional.
Crush was organized by John Emmell, a Norristown alum who played volleyball in high school before traveling around the East Coast and Canada playing at the pro level. Pro division winners will receive more than $5,000 in cash, and non-pro division competitors will also play for prizes totaling more than $6,000. Play begins at 8:30 a.m. on tournament days for all divisions. For more information, visit www.norristowncrush.com.
