It was a delightful weekend on the 4 Garrison Tennis Courts as club members took their seats on to watch regular ball boys display their skills at the 4th edition of LT. Col Franklin Gyamerah Amoakoh Annual Ball Kids Tourney.

Wularu brothers, Ivan and Jeffery, won the 16 and 14 Championship: Ivan whitewashing Francis Boye 7-1 in the 16 category while Jeffery also won 7-6 over Seth Aenso in the 14 and under division. Ivan and Jeffery received a giant trophy and Tennis Racquets donated by a club member Robert Tetteh for the one-day tournament.

Speaking after the game, Ivan said “I am very happy to win the under 16 category tournament for the first time; it wasn’t easy at all but i'm happy to have won it”.

President of the Club Mr. Salifu Abebe said "The annual ball boys tournament brings together boys of the 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club and gives them an opportunity to compete against each other in an elite competition before the year ends to determine who is the best."

He added that "qualifying to participate at the ball boys tournament is an achievement in itself and reflects the consistent outstanding performance of each player. I would like to congratulate all of the players who have qualified for the tournament. For being here it means you are following in the footsteps of your seniors.

‘I would like to express my gratitude to the main sponsor, Lt Col Franklin Gyamera and Robert Tetteh who volunteered to support with some tennis rackets,’ Mr. Salifu Abebe stressed on.
