Amoah Juniors Tennis Open on March 8

Former national Table Tennis Champion Eric Amoah who has formed a foundation to support the ping pong game will on March 8, 2014 organise a Juniors Open at the Hathiramani Sports Hall at the Accra Sports Stadium.

All Table Tennis players between the ages of 12 and 15 years are welcome to participate and according to the organisers, there would be a special event for oldies of the game like Baffoe Bonney of Radio Gold fame, Mawuko Afadzinu of Stanbic Bank who is acting President of the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) and Kennedy Adjepong of KT &T fame to play and inspire the youth.

They are going to feature in what has been labeled as the “Executive Clash” and it would be very exciting.

Eric Amoah told your truly he wants to impact on the kids and youth to take up sports as a hobby or profession.

He said this year’s tournament would be very exciting as players are coming from Swedru, Winneba, Cape Coast and Koforidua to challenge the Accra boys and girls.

According to Amoah, some companies like ICS, Alordia Promotions UK and others are supporting the tournament which has Nii Lante Vandepuije as the guest of honour.

He called on other companies to come on board as the game has huge potential to reward the nation with some medals at international tournaments like the Commonwealth and All African Games.

The Amoah Tennis Tournament 2014 launch takes place at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday February 27.
