Stanbic Bank committed to Table Tennis development

Stanbic Bank have extended their support of sports to table tennis and are assuring a commitment to help raise and develop the sport of ping pong in the country by generating the *interest of kids in the discipline.***

*Stanbic have in partnership with the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) and support from Coca Cola, GOIL and Multi TV successfully staged *a training programme dubbed ‘vacation table tennis clinic’ for children aged 6 to 16 years over the past 3 weeks which came to a successful end at the D.G Hathiramani Sports Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday.

Over 150 children received certificates for participating in the 3-week clinic through which they were taught among many table tennis skills, forehand drive, grip, spin and strokes.

According to Mawuko Afadzinu, Head of Marketing and Communication of Stanbic Bank, the purpose of the initiative is to unearth talents to secure the future of the sport in the country.

“Stanbic is committed to sports and we have supported many sports initiatives and we are glad to add Table Tennis too. We have happy to help lay the foundation for future champions.

"We urge more parents to enroll their children next time because it also helps to keep the kids occupied and off the streets during the vacation,” said Mr. Afadzinu who also doubles as Vice President of GTTA.
