Accra, March 6, GNA - State Insurance Company of Ghana Limited (SIC) defeated Bank of Ghana 7-4 in the finals to win this year's Financial Institutions Tennis Association (FINTAS) Independence Day Gala championship played at the Enterprise Insurance Company Club House in Accra on Monday.

SIC on their way to the finals beat Ghana Commercial Bank 7-5 in the Semi Finals while Bank of Ghana edged out Internal Revenue Service (IRS) with a 7-1 drubbing.

Other financial institutions that took part in the competition are Enterprise Insurance Company Limited, SG-SSB Bank, Ecobank Ghana Limited and Barclays Bank Ghana Limited.

Mr Paul Hammond, outgoing Chairman of the Association said the competition, which was started about 10 years ago, was aimed at strengthening the existing cordial relationship between the institutions.
