Maiden ITF Men's Future championship for Accra

Accra, Sept. 26, GNA -- The Ghana Tennis Association, (GTA) will in conjunction with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) hold its maiden edition of the ITF Men's Future Championship in Accra. The championship is scheduled for October 22-29 at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club and the Kaneshie Sports Complex.

A statement signed by Mr Hamid Hamah Issakah, Public Relations Officer of the National Sports Council (NSC) copied to the GNA Sports said, interested participants are to pay a registration fee of 10 dollars to the GTA to participate in the championship. In a related development, the GTA will inaugurate the Ashanti Regional Branch of the Association in Kumasi on September 30 at the Regional Cultural Center.

Mr Issakah said the inauguration of the branch forms part of the NSC's programme to encourage especially the youth to participate in tennis throughout the country.
