Jeffrey Schlupp joins call against racism in football

Crystal Palace winger Jeffrey Schlupp has joined calls against racism in football.

Racism in football have been on the rise in recent times which has raised concerns about the level of sponsorship in the game.

Juventus attacker Moise Kean recently suffered racial chants whiles in action for his side.

The likes of Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling, Ghanaian-born Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi and Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly have all received monkey chants in recent times.

This has since pushed several architects in the game to call for immediate action to stop the unsporting behaviour..

Schlupp has however joined to push the agenda by condemning the act.

“We are making a stand against racist abuse,” he tweeted.

“We recognise that our platforms come with responsibility, and so we are using our voice to stand against racist abuse.

“Together, we are calling on social media platforms and footballing bodies to do more!”

Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp recently called on the World Football governing body to ban victims caught in racial chants for life.
