Presby Bishop Assaults Labourer (7)

The most senior Presby pastor in the whole of the north, Rev. S. A. Olando recently physically assaulted one of his labourers at the church's centre at Vitin near Tamale. Rev. Olando is the chairman of the Presby Church in the whole of the north and this is very serious.

The matter has been reported to the church big men in Accra and a so-called investigation mainly to cover the matter up is going on. The labourer has on a number of times been called and scoulded by Olando's cohorts for speaking to people about the assault. One such people is said to be a cripple pastor from Olando's village who is also in Tamale and teaches at UDS. The treasurer of the church in the north, Rev. Wenam, is also known to have verbally attacked the labourer for talking about the issue.

It is known that they are planning to find excuses to sack the labourer from his work. Rev. Olando is said to have manipulated the election process in Wa and managed with the help of his class mate who is the secretary of the whole church in Accra, to get his friend elected as new chairman. Rev. Olando stayed in Tamale for more than six years and the church big men still allow him to stay despite the fact that all his predecessors left the place after their term of office.
The big men in Accra are helping Olando to commit serious crimes and damaging the image of the Presby church in the north. Rev. Olando seems to be afraid to leave Tamale because he has stolen some money to build his house in Bolga and doesn't want to be exposed. He deliberately blocked a position for himself for six years, refusing to appoint a head for the centre in order to finish his office and remain there. He even bought a new vehicle and packed just for himself to use at the centre.
All this the big men in Accra know and are covering him up or refusing to tell him the truth. VERY SAD INDEED!! Our investigations reveal that Rev. Olando is VERY unpopular amongst the workers in the centre and office in Tamale town. No one speaks well of him because he doesn't behave like a pastor. We want all concerned christians in general and presbyterians in particular to write to the big men to discipline Olando and get him out of Tamale.
