Nana Addo To Concede Defeat

-But Tells Party Elders To Allow Him Contest 2016 Elections

As pressure mounts on the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its failed Presidential Candidate, Williams Addo-Dankwa Akufo- Addo to concede defeat, very credible information from the Akyem faction of the NPP, indicates that Akufo-Addo intends to contest to lead the NPP in 2016 at age 72.
Close aides of the NPP disappointed Presidential Candidate have hinted that, he (Nana Addo) have asked the NPP and its elders to take a lesson from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and allow him to contest again in 2016.
According the aides, Nana Addo made reference to the NDC as regards the opportunity given the late President John Evans Atta Mills to contest 3 times before winning on his third attempt.
The sources said, the decision of the Akyem- sect pushing the agenda for Nana Akufo Addo to contest again in 2016, was to save the NPP from breaking-up. As explained, the sources said if Nana Addo is not given the chance again to contest, many well-meaning Ghanaians and NPP supporters expect that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia should be the Presidential Candidate in 2016.
However, the aides explained, that will never be possible and that, there is no way that the NPP will take somebody from the 3 Northern regions as a Presidential Candidate.
Intelligence information picked up by The Informer has it that, even though, ex-President John Agyekum appears to engaged in loose talks in favour of Akufo-Addo concerning the just-ended elections, privately, he has sent a message to Nana Addo to concede defeat so as not to further jeopardize the NPP’s chances in 2016.
Our sources in the Akyem camp of the NPP have confirmed that, indeed, Nana Addo has received a message from former President John Kufuor, asking him to concede defeat so as to save the image of the party, and most importantly, the party’s candidate in 2016.
However, according to the sources, Nana Akufo-Addo has treated the message calling on him to concede defeat with the contempt that it deserves.
The sources also hinted that the Akyem group is aware that all that former President Kufuor is doing is to enable him (Kufuor) impose his darling “boy” John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen on the party, as its flagbearer in 2016, and have vowed to do everything possible to destroy his chances, if the party elders fail to honour Akufo- Addo side of the bargain- to allow him to contest in 2016.
