NDC MP Aspirant an NPP Card Bearing Member

Intelligence report reaching the office of the president and gathered by castle news indicate clearly that Magnus Kofi Amoatey who is contesting the Yilo Krobo Primaries on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic party is a card bearing member of the opposition National Patriotic Party (NPP).

It can be noted that for the past five months, Several meetings had been held by the Regional Security Councils (REGSECs) in collaboration with their counterparts at the national level including the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) to ascertain the credibility of all those contesting the NDC primaries.

The report says, Magnus kofi Amoatey who have contested the NDC primaries unsuccessfully on four occasions has been in bed with the NPP since 2001. It can be said on authority that, the lawyer has attended NPP ward meetings in Accra on numerous occasions, and has been in constant communication with some of the NPP national party executives.

Further investigations by the BNI reveals that Lawyer Kofi Amoatey has been actively paying his membership dues to the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Sources within the NPP National Party office at Asylum down have also confirmed that, the Lawyer on November 1, 2011 was issued with the newly NPP electronic membership card signed by Kwadjo Owusu Afriyie.

Article 8 section (2) (f) of the NDC constitution states that “A member of the NDC cannot be a member of any other political party” unless he/she resigns from the party. Lawyer Kofi Amoatey’s action is an infringement upon the NDC’s constitution.

A polling station agent of the Ayawaso West constituency of the NPP who spoke to the castle news with the promise that his name wouldn’t be mentioned confirmed that between the years of 2005-2006 Kofi Amoatey instructed him to arrange a KIA truck to convey a set of office furniture to the residence of their constituency chairman in Accra.

According to the report, credible information gathered from somanya states that, Lawyer Kofi Amoatey with canal knowledge legally assisted a known NPP family in somanya to sue the District Assembly of which he (Kofi Amoatey) was once a Presiding Member and placed an injunction on the District Assembly common fund.
