How to scare Voters in NDC strongholds

Dress-Rehearsal of how to scare Voters in NDC strongholds Held As...

BALLOT BOX SNATCHING

...NPP Goons

Plot Strategy

...Gunshots and other Banditry acts being perfected

...Plot to bribe Election Officials in Tema ahead of Run-off fails

The presidential run-off is poised to produce violent reactions across the length and breadth of the country if steps are not taken to nip in the bud, plans by the NPP to set their goons on a shooting and ballot snatching spree. Credible information from our intelligence has it that the NPP is busily orientating its NPP Party Police and Lord Commey's 'Action Troopers' to perfect the act of ballot box snatching in NDC strongholds. They are being supplied with AK 47 Assault Rifles to scare away voters and the regular policemen and other security detail to be deployed to maintain the peace on 28 December, 2008. High level meetings have been held to discuss the modus operandi of the NPP party police and other goons ahead of the presidential run-off also agreed to replicate the shenanigan tactics used in Ayawaso Central and Weija constituencies across the country. The elaborate plan as discussed at the meeting in East Legon also touched on how to make effective use of the NPP party police to assist in the swapping of ballot boxes with those already thumb-printed ones for Akufo-Addo. The stuffed ballot boxes with Akufo-Addo's thumb-printed votes are to be swapped with the legally designated ones of the EC when their goons and hoodlums succeed in creating commotion at the collation centres. According to True Democrat intelligence sources, hundreds of goons have already been sent to NDC strongholds across the country, more particularly the Volta Region and the rural settlements in the Central, Western and the three northern regions. An additional plan, we are informed, is sporadic gunshots by unidentified persons on the eve of the run-off in the NDC strongholds to deter voters from coming out to vote. Incensed by the high degree of neutrality displayed by the military and also that they voted massively against the NPP government, the military patrol team is being overhauled. Those specially recruited by the NPP to defend the party's interest have been earmarked for deployment to assist scare away voters in NDC strongholds.

With the NPP desperate to win the run-off at all cost, the posting of regular police personnel as well as those from allied security agencies is under critical review. Areas where personnel of the Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS), Prisons and the Fire Service have operated in the first round are being reviewed. The suspicion that these security officials did not assist them to steal the vote is at the heart of their being shuffled. We can report on authority that the Volta Regional Police Commander, Mr. Bernard Dery is one individual not satisfied with the neutrality of the personnel in certain areas of the Volta Region. Dery, the intelligence sources revealed, openly assembled the police personnel under his watch in the Volta Region to vote for Akufo-Addo.

The results, however, showed that his orders were disobeyed due to the highly inflammatory partisan connotation it carried.

The decision by the NPP inner circle to undertake the diabolic act of injecting their goons and party police into the system to intimidate and harass voters in NDC strongholds has to be monitored and halted in its tracks. Intelligence sources believe that the subtle moves to resort to violent methods to rig the elections in favour of the NPP could undermine the much-talked about peace and stability of the nation.

Meanwhile, the True Democrat has been alerted to moves by the NPP to compromise some election officials in the Tema metropolis. An election official told our undercover reporters of attempts by the NPP leadership to let him replace the names of some of the presiding officers and their assistants in the metropolis with some NPP activists. The offer of GHC 5000 (50million old Ghana Cedis), has been roundly rejected by the officer in question. He disclosed that the NPP leaders who approached him specifically requested to be allowed to provide presiding officers and polling assistants whose main task is checking the electoral list and those who tear the ballot papers for the voters. Stay tuned!
