Fallout From Quality Grain Verdict (1)

…KUFUOR, CABINET AND GOVERNOR: CANDIDATES FOR FAST TRACK COURT
President Kufuor must have been a very happy man on the day that he appointed Mr. Justice Kwame Afreh to the Supreme Court and instructed him to ensure that the ruling in the Tsatsu Tsikata case be reversed.

Stories making the rounds are to be the effect that the President actually drank Champagne to celebrate the reversal of the ruling by the Supreme Court that the Fast Track High Court was unconstitutional.

Similarly, stories are making rounds that the President instructed Justice Afreh to jail the “Quality Grain Three” some of the stories are even inferring that “Ghana Palaver’s” rhetorical question about which big NPP man told a very big Ashanti chief that even though Kwame Peprah, was an Ashanti, if he did not name Rawlings as the “brain behind” The Quality Grain Affair, he would have him jailed, to mean a reference to a conversation between President Kufuor and Otumfuo, the Asantehene.
