CURFEW IMPOSSED ON TAMALE (9)

Following a serious political mis-understanding between supporters of NPP and NDC in Tamale at the slaughter house, a 7pm - 6am curfew is now been imposed on Tamale (not the whole of dagbon) for 7 days. The truth of the matter that started it all was that, for sometime now NDC has started serious political campaign activities in Tamale and its sourrounding. On easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday the NDC used the occasion to clean Part of the Tamale Regional Hospital and the tamale east children Hospital as well as the Town centre. NDC flags are now becoming the colours of the day. It is the mounting of one of such NDC flags on a tall Bamboo stick over the top of the "Bucher house" in the Tamale central market that provoked the NPP regional chairman who instructed some young men to either tilt the bamboo stick off the busy house or bring it down. Not satisfied with the action the NDC youth wing reacted resulting in exchange of words and later knives and axes. According to the NDC youth wing the only person who can order the removal of a bill boards or flag from any public or private place is the municipal chief executive provided it is illegal to mount such bill. The military has now taken over the central market asking Buchers loyal to the NDC to surrender and remove the Flags from the Bamboo stick off the roof of the slaugther house. This has not been done since 9:00 in the morning as the NDC youth insist they would rather want to die.

The doors of the bucher house are closed with some NDC youth members in the building armed with their local bucher knives and meat for sale.
