Akufo Addo was a PNDC Spy

… Spied on His Anti-PNDC Elements

… Rewarded With $600,000 NKF Telecom Contract by PNDC

… Lobbied PNDC To Be Appointed Attorney –General

The True Democrat’s intelligence has uncovered what appears to be the greatest revelation of the so-called human rights activist called Nana Akufo-Addo. Today, we want the people of Ghana including members of the NPP trumpeting the human rights record of the NPP flag bearer to know that he neither a moralist nor a democrat. Contrary to the loud claims about his belief in the rule of law and constitutional democracy, Akufo-Addo has been found out as a chief spy for the erstwhile Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), providing vital information on his anti-PNDC colleagues.

Discreet investigations by the paper have uncovered how Nana Akufo-Addo used to spy for the PNDC from his vantage position as a leading member of the anti-PNDC struggle. The so-called human rights activist and super-democrat was at hand supplying intelligence information to the PNDC, with which the regime nipped in the bud all attempts to overthrow it. So diligent was the NPP flag bearer in the quality of intelligence provided the PNDC that he was handsomely rewarded abundantly.

While the rewards were in various guises, the juiciest of all was the NKF Ghana Telecom legal contract. The $600,000 contract, a deal that further raised his appetite level to continue to spy on his colleagues for the PNDC. With his adrenalin pumped up by this lucrative contract, Akufo-Addo lobbied feverishly to be made the Attorney-General to assist persecute and prosecute the enemies of the revolution. His so-called enemies of the revolution, most of whom he had spied on are now incidentally colleagues in the NPP. True Democrat investigations have also established that Nana Akufo Addo is one person whose political background is one long disappointing tale of convoluting and confusing political allegiances. It also revealed his endorsement of contradictory stances in his forty-odd years as a politician. Contrary to the widely acclaimed view of being a champion and fighter for human rights, we can state with certainty that the NPP presidential candidate’s political biography is one of a political chameleon, who swings his allegiance at every turn without any moral compunction.

For the man Akufo Addo and his NPP who never ceased to trumpet to Ghanaians the undemocratic nature of the NDC and its progenitor, the PNDC, one would have expected Akufo-Addo in particular with such a record of opposition to the abuse of human rights to maintain a clear distance between himself, his politics and the regimes he so loudly condemns. The undiminished truth is that while Akufo-Addo openly condemns human rights abuses, he clandestinely endorsed the abuse of human rights by choosing to provide information on his colleagues to the so-called undemocratic regimes he so eloquently denounced in public. Such is the character of the man who wants to lead this country. Clearly, if close associates of Akufo-Addo openly claimed they cannot sleep with their eyes closed, they might have perhaps had confidential information on his dalliance with the PNDC as a congenital spy and mole.

For the benefit of our readers and Ghanaians, Akufo-Addo’s rise to fame was in 1980 when he was retained by the then Chief Justice, Fred Apaloo, to represent him in the case of Amoako-Tufuor vs Attorney-General. The Amoako Tufuor mentioned here is the same Dr. Amoako-Tufuor of the School Feeding Programme fame of the NPP, who was recently cut to size from his pedestal over a stinking scandal which smelt to the high heavens. Akufo-Addo, the investigations showed was retained on the recommendation of Chief Justice Apaloo’s nephew, Tsatsu Tsikata, who happened to be the second counsel for the embattled Chief Justice. The Tsikatas were family friends of the Akufo-Addos. It would be recalled that on coming into power in 2001, Akufo Addo became the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice in the NPP government. He led the prosecution of Tsatsu Tsikata, till he was convicted and jailed in 2008 even though Tsatsu taught the so-called human rights fighter some essential lessons in jurisprudence. We must not forget, however, the inability of Akufo-Addo to prosecute successfully the perpetrators and murderers of the Ya-Na, Yakubu Andani II and his elders. We must not also forget Akufo-Addo’s inability to prosecute successfully the policemen implicated in the May 9, 2001 Stadium disaster, which claimed the lives of 107 innocent Ghanaians. As for his inability to prove his mettle as a human rights advocate when as Ghana’s Foreign Minister, 44 Ghanaian were murdered in the Gambia, the least said about it the better.

True Democrat archival search also took us to 1965, when Akufo-Addo’s granduncle, Dr. J.B. Danquah died in detention in Nsawam prison in the Nkrumah regime. At the time, Akufo-Addo was a fire-eating Marxist-Communist and a leading member of the Legon students’ branch of the CPP. Akufo-Addo actively participated in various fora organised by the CPP government which condemned the imperialist politics of J.B. Danquah, the man he now proudly claims as his inspiration in our politics.

For us, we can only state this chameleonic character is what is signified in the current kangaroo dance of the NPP. Treachery, traitorous and betrayal heavily laced with the mindless and pointless pursuit of the de luxe pleasures of life is the embodiment of the man the NPP believes is fit to be our president. True Democrat investigations have exposed the true character of Akufo-Addo. He is a fifth-columnist, a chief spy and a devious schemer who believes in nothing, and will deny his own mother for personal advantage in the twinkle of an eye. It is such characters the French dictator Napoleon, aptly described as “silk-stockings full of excrement.” Our position is that may the good Lord make this cup to pass by the hands of this country!

The ROPAL Rigging Project Using Foreign Missions Has Begun PROXY FORMS INFLATED … 5000 Proxy Forms Each Allocated to Liberia and Sierra Leone … Maj. Gen. Adu Amanfoh Recruiting More Ineligible Voters

True Democrat intelligence sources in Monrovia, Liberia and Freetown, Sierra Leone have raised the alarm over dubious methods being employed by the heads of mission to rig the December 7 election in favour of the NPP. We can report on authority that the two missions have applied for and were duly supplied with 5000 proxy forms to enable the diplomatic staff in those missions to cast their ballot via proxy. The high number of forms demanded by the two missions has not only raised eyebrows but alerted some honest and dedicated nationalists to the secret implementation of the Representation of the People’s Amendment Law (ROPAL) by the NPP government.

According to our intelligence, for a small mission such as Liberia and Sierra Leone, to collect 5000 each of proxy forms is unprecedented and highly irregular. What is more, in the case of Liberia, where Maj. Gen. Adu-Amanfoh, former Director of Military Intelligence of the Ghana Armed Forces is the Ambassador, the mission is making further request for more forms. Our intelligence has it that the Ambassador and his NPP agents in the mission have been recruiting people with NPP sympathies to pick up the forms. The paper is further informed that the total number of diplomatic staff in the two missions is less than 100. The intelligence sources also indicated that in the case of Liberia, the Ghanbatt on United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) is also less than 800. They have therefore expressed their surprise that the head of missions could go to the extent of demanding as much as 5000 forms. What is even more worrying is the mobilization of people not eligible to vote in the December 7 election. As revealed by the sources, the inflation of number of diplomatic staff by even small missions such as those of Liberia and Sierra Leone means those of the bigger foreign missions would be staggering. True Democrat checks indicate that Ghana has forty-eight diplomatic missions with those in the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and Netherlands with bigger staff numbers. Even these missions, the checks showed do not boast of numbers which could exceed 150. Conservatively, if the small missions such as Liberia and Sierra Leone could be given 5000 forms each, this translates into a cool 240, 000 votes in the bag of the NPP. Using probability of the bigger missions collecting far larger number of forms, the NPP’s attempt to rig the elections could see them with a head start of an excess of 300, 000 votes depending on which mission got what number of proxy forms.

Apart from the diplomatic staff, the other Ghanaians eligible to vote are students on Ghana Government Scholarship. The number of students studying abroad put together is less than 8000. Therefore, the Electoral Commission (EC) has to explain to the people of Ghana, the basis for supplying the missions with such high number of proxy forms. Judging from the keen interest the election has generated, every step has to be taken to prevent the NPP from abusing its incumbency and to flout the laws of the country with impunity. The secret implementation of ROPAL using the back door must be halted by the EC. It is important for the diplomatic corps in Ghana to take this matter up with their respective governments. The Peace Council, headed by His Eminence, Cardinal Peter Turkson must be seen to initiate moves to help check this fraud to be perpetrated against the people of Ghana.. The Christian Council ought to act with dispatch if the peace of the nation is to be safeguarded before, during and after the elections.

The True Democrat intelligence has been working behind the scenes to have the actual figure of Ghanaian diplomatic staff eligible to vote in the December 7 election. While the paper acknowledges that due to the security implications involved the true identity of certain staff must be kept confidential, this does not prevent the Foreign Ministry to furnish the EC and the political parties with the total number of our diplomatic staff working in our 48 missions.
